30 Retrospective Ideas

A colleague asked me some time ago for retrospective ideas. Life got in the way and I never got back to her. Today, when I was looking for an idea for our team’s next retrospective, I finally got around to share my list of retrospective ideas. I have not tried all of them. Some ideas seem amazing and I would love to try them with the right team and in the right circumstances. Others seem a bit Pete and repeat. I have added a * to my favorites. Retrospectives Are Not Only For Teams

I am the agile PM for a small team that augments an application team. Our team assist towards reliability, scalability of the micro services the application team is building. Ani, the team lead and I know each other for almost a year. We have been on the same team for about four weeks and work very well together. Suddenly, last week we ran into a couple issues and misunderstandings. This triggered the idea to have our own one-on-one retro.

Retrospective By Dice Game

I have found remote retrospectives a lot more challenging than local ones. You lose the opportunity to use tactile games and have very little non-verbal communication. It is also more difficult to change up the retrospective format.
